Mademoiselle Kenopsia
- August 5, 2023 (2023-08-05) (Locarno)
Mademoiselle Kenopsia is a Canadian film directed by Denis Côté and released in 2023.[1] The film stars Larissa Corriveau as the "Guardian of Spaces", a woman who is obsessed with watching over and occupying empty spaces.[1]
The cast also includes Evelyne de la Chenelière, Olivier Aubin and Hinde Rabbaj.
According to Côté, the film was inspired in part by the COVID-19 pandemic, and the ways in which it changed society's relationship with public spaces that are normally bustling and busy but were eerily empty and quiet during COVID-related lockdowns.[1]
The film premiered at the 76th Locarno Film Festival in August 2023,[2] and had its Canadian premiere in the Wavelengths program at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival.[3]
